Why are most Irish bloggers from Cork? Are they actually from Cork or do they just pretend? Because of course they could be from anywhere.
This morning I visited a number of Irish blogs with a view to making some nominations to the Irish Blog Awards (to be held in Cork!) and this is how I noticed the strange phenomenon of the Cork blogging internet takeover. Here are just a few examples:
- Cork
- Cork
- Cork
- Cork
- Cork
- Cork – but can be forgiven because she’s really American
- Cork – says he’s from Sevilla, but if you look closely you’ll see he is in fact a Corkman
Is there a Cork blogging club or something – that has a secret virtual handshake and will only offer membership to bloggers that finish their sentences with ‘like’ like..?
‘Cork’ is a really funny word all on it’s own – don’t you think?

Limerick is the blogging Capital as far as I can tell. Dozens of Limerick bloggers. Think they’d be happy enough taking the home of Munster rugby!
John – I hope you voted in my poll! So far there are only 2 from Cork so maybe I’m wrong afterall.
Damien – I can only find the one : http://www.limerickblogger.ie/blog/

Dave – are you actually a spammer or do you just sign yourself spam?
Heather: Sligo – that’s my home town. I left in 1984. Tell me, has it stopped raining?
The question should really have been “Are oo from Cork?”
